A Message From the Founder
The heart of Inspire Accounting & Bookkeeping has always been people. Not spreadsheets, not deadlines, not tax seasons—people. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, embarrassed, confused, or even intimidated by finances, you’re exactly who I built this firm for.
I’ve spent nearly two decades in the world of accounting, and I’ve seen firsthand how the profession is often perceived—and, frankly, how it often behaves.
Accountants and bookkeepers are stereotyped as cold, rigid, numbers‑obsessed, tucked away in cubicles, speaking in jargon, and operating to the pubic narrowly between 9 and 5, Monday to Friday. Some of those stereotypes exist for a reason.
I’ve worked in places where compassion wasn’t part of the job description, where the human sitting across the desk was treated as a file number, and where “maximizing revenue” mattered more than easing someone’s stress or helping them understand their own financial story.
I don’t believe accounting should feel that way. And I don’t believe accountants and bookkeepers should be that way.

Why I Built Inspire Accounting
My career has taken me through nearly every corner of the financial world:
As a CRA Examiner/Auditor, I learned how deeply stressful government processes can be for everyday people—and how much relief comes from having someone patient and knowledgeable in your corner. Now with every year that service dwindles following cuts to the Agency, this is becoming increasingly important.
As a Senior Tax Preparer, I saw how a single conversation could turn fear into relief knowing they’d get enough money to pay their groceries and save themselves from eviction.
As a Cost Accountant in a construction company, I learned the importance of clarity, accuracy, and practicality—especially when every dollar matters.
As a Payroll Coordinator in a nonprofit society, I saw how financial systems impact real lives, real families, and real communities.
As an Accounting Professional for a First Nation government authority and a Public Practice Firm, I learned the value of cultural respect, listening, and building trust before offering advice.
My educational path reinforced the technical side— a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance), the Canadian Securities Course, Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification, and completing all coursework in the CPA program.
But it was the CPA journey that made something clear: The traditional profession wasn’t built for the human moments that matter most. It was built for efficiency, billable hours, and maximizing profit. And while those things have their place, they often leave no room for compassion, patience, or genuine connection.
I didn’t want to be the kind of individual who only sees numbers. I wanted to be the kind who sees people.

Inspire Accounting & Bookkeeping was created to break the mold. Yes, I’m detail‑oriented. Yes, I’m thorough. Yes, I care deeply about accuracy. Those “accountant stereotypes” are true for me—but they’re only half the story.
The other half is warmth, empathy, and flexibility, combined with the genuine curiosity I have for your lifestyle and the chance to learn something new every day.
I believe your accountant should meet you where you are—literally and figuratively. That’s why I offer appointments outside traditional hours, evenings, weekends, early mornings, and meetings at your home, your business, or your favourite coffee shop. Life doesn’t run on a 9–5 schedule, and neither should the person helping you navigate your finances.
I believe in speaking plainly, answering every question without judgment, and making sure you feel comfortable enough to ask the ones you’ve been afraid to ask elsewhere.
I believe in building relationships—not transactions.

You can expect professionalism, accuracy, and expertise. You can also expect kindness, patience, and genuine care.
You’ll never be treated like a number. You’ll never be rushed out the door. You’ll never be made to feel small for not knowing something.
Your time matters. Your effort matters. Your story matters. And I’m honoured every time someone trusts me with theirs.
Thank you for being here, for considering Inspire Accounting, and for allowing me to do the work I love in a way that feels meaningful, human, and true to who I am.
